Silhouettes by Oliver Howlett & James Long

Oliver and I collaborated on Silhouettes as part of his final assessment at The Unviersity of York.

Album Foreword

The word ‘silhouette’ means a shadow of an object or person, and as a concept, ‘Silhouettes’ represents a collection of different and unrelated stories or situations. However, like a shadow, sometimes we do not see (or in this case hear) the entire picture. For example, Unaware describes a parent singing to their child and Café Royola depicts a man who falls in love with a woman but is too shy to go inside her shop. The title track Silhouettes portrays a soldier who has disappeared in a war, leaving his lover behind.
